'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Carew Rooting For Himself

John Carew has reiterated his love for the club and has intimated he would be willing to sign a contract extension and end his nomad days.

We all know Carew's reputation, a regular European traveller with a host of clubs for no more than a year or two, but the Hulk has said he is settled in England, and settled at the Villa and he really believes his style of play suits the Premiership.

Speaking to the press, he said:

'I have two years more on my contract so there is no rush with anything. But I am very happy to be here and I would like to stay for many years more.

'If that is the club's wish, then that is my wish as well. We will see what happens. But I would like to stay here for a long time.

'I really like it here, am really happy here, so I am absolutely open for that. I would like to put roots down here for a quite a long time.

'It is a league that really suits me well and I am happy with the football and really enjoy playing it. That is important to me.'

Carew is looking forward to the first of our pre season matches, and believes Villa are capable of having another big season this year.

It goes without saying, he's looking forward to our European exploits.

'It is good to be back and we have some important matches coming up. We now have the Intertoto in two weeks which is very important.

'But the players have come back a bit more fitter than normal from their vacation as well. All the physical tests up until now indicate that.

'So, even though the Intertoto matches are not far away, I think we will be quite well prepared and we've got two or three games before that to help with those preparations.'

Although nothing new, it's still good to see our star players being happy with life at Villa park. Let the forthcoming season be your best ever, big fellow!

Good to hear this from JC.... it must be a happier place to be when you are more or less guaranteed a start unless of course you want Champions League Football

Nice one big man.

Lovin' Big JC. An old school friend of mine who always takes any opportunity to diss The Villa in my prescence was saying that he always thought Carew was over rated but has shown how good he actually is since moving to The Villa. My knowledge of him before he came was fairly negligble but I love him now. John Carew Carew, He's bigger than me and you!!!

Very important part of the team. Good to be reassured that he's happy and settled at Villa Park, we can hopefully look forward to big things from him throughout the upcoming campaign.

An on form JC is unplayable and worthy of a place in any top team. I for one am happy for him to stay as long as he wants, as long as he doesn't "do a Barry."

Imagine a long sleeve away kit with the word CAREW on the back. priceless. If i was still in any kind of school - surely I'd be the most popular kid in class.

I love the guy and its great for your players to come out and say things like this, I do find a little odd though lol he is hardly a transfer target for anyone and no expects him to up and leave as he is known for....maybe he just watched pretty woman and was feeling emotional!!!
