Who Do You Want As Aston Villa's Number One?

Our latest poll, suggested by Eircol asks Which keeper would you want as number one next season?

There are plenty of keepers being linked to the Villa in the papers, but who is the best man for the job? Did Scott Carson do enough to convince you (probably not)? Should Stuart Taylor be given his chance? Would you want to see Paul Robinson in a Villa shirt? The other options are Guzan, Foster, Green, Boruc, Hart, Cudicini and other (because lets face it, there are other keepers being linked).

Also, earlier in the week we asked in poll suggested by adamavfc - Who is most important when considering the future of Aston Villa?

64% of you think that Martin O'Neill is the most important, as he builds for the new season, he is two games away from bringing UEFA Cup football back to Villa Park.

25% believe Randy Lerner is the most important, he is the man with the money and has turned the club around, arguably the best foreign chairman in the Premiership.

5% see Gabby Agbonlahor as the key to the future, he has improved over the last two seasons and could be the next Villa player to hit the 20 goal mark!!

5% said Ashley Young, who has now caught the eye of England Manager Fabio Capello, possibly the most exciting player outside of the top four!

1% voted for Martin Laursen, many peoples tip for next Villa captain, although if we are honest it is going to be Reo-Coker.

Thanks to both adamavfc and Eircol for their suggestions.

Boruc would be my first choice.
still skeggy
same great keeper
jamiekilgannon1
Wish any of the above except Carson was an option!!
young_jonah
Don't see Buffon in the list! ;-)
steako
Lehman after his awesome final appearance. But realistically, with the options open too us, Green as number one, Robbo and Taylor fighting it out for the shirt!
leelindsay
agree Boruc would be a good signin. Ben Foster would be good as well. Reckon NRC should be captain, he was more of a leader on the pitch than Barry was anyway
avfcmike101
Not that fat butter fingers Robinson. But it will be him another cast off signing on the cheap. Should be Boruc or Craig Gordon.
Jinksy
i would take robinson before gordon anyday...
Eircol
Boruc would be the best but thats never gonna happen so Robinson next best.
astonsteve
Likewise, Eircol. Boruc for no. 1, tho
mightyrodders
i think robinson will end up at villa next season, get him in before the 15th please!
wimp2k7
Is 15th the registration day for Intertoto then?
young_jonah
John prescott.
british84
jonh prescot lmao!! haha
kendog
I think Taylor is more than adequate for now, we seem to be rushing into buying Robinson for the intertoto and i have complete faith in taylor to do us proud for now.
shortshadyuk
1 - Boruc, 2 - Robinson, 3 - Guzan
industrial_musical
Carson has 1% of the vote!!
young_jonah
was that you?
Eircol
Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green, Rob Green.
notthedougellisstand
Carson now at 0% LOL. It has to be Boruc 1, Taylor 2 and Guzan 3. Make NRC Captain and Martin Vias Captain.
Tallaght Villan
Admin may have edited it, we cant let Carson get a vote!! LMAO
young_jonah
Green, Foster, Robinson. I like taylor, so wouldnt begrudge him a chance, but we need another keeper regardless, and those three are better than taylor. Laursen for captain!
samd577
and i didnt mention Boruc because we will never get him! haha.
samd577
Borac for me, don't think he would come too cheaply though.
johnmurphy3112
Freidal - great shot stopper
myleftfoot
Boruc, but wouldn't mind Freidal with Guzan as his prodigy.
Nigel-not-Reo
Not Robinson that's for certain, he's no better than Carson, while I saw three games involving Guzan while I was in the U.S., and he doesn't look to be an improvement on those two either. Haven't seen anywhere near enough of Boruc to make a judgement on him, but its clear that Stuart Taylor isn't really an option neither.
glensider
I say Robinson with Guzan as his backup! a calm and confident paul robinson is unbeatable!
Mose21
Trouble is Mose21, Robinson is neither calm nor confident. He's been in a slump for almost eighteen months now, too long to be just a hiccup. Doesn't come for crosses, beaten by long range shots all the time, and to those that say that MON can turn his career around, its just plain wrong. He and our goalkeeping coach(es) failed to do that with Carson, and he was a complete liability.
