Discipline and No Final Bid

Discipline and No Final Bid

Martin O'Neill has dismissed reports that Liverpool have made a 'take it or leave it' £15 million offer for Barry, but he has been disciplined over his comments in the NotW.

I believe Liverpool have also gone to press in stating that no offer has been made as was rumoured earlier today, so Gareth must be absolutely chuffed that Liverpool still haven't come back in for him.

After his reported quotes in the News of the World - I'm still thinking it was third party via his agent with his permission, or he did in fact develop a case of the chavs - the club have disciplined him.

In a short statement O'Neill said:

'There's no truth in this morning's reports and the situation remains the same.

'Gareth will not be returning to training tomorrow and he has been disciplined after giving an unauthorised interview to the News of the World.'

Perfect response by the club, Barry would do well to remember who pays his wages.

Whether those quotes came out of his mouth, or his agents, the club's response prove the validity of them and to be disciplined he had to authorise it.

A very stupid boy.

Barry is rapidly losing the respect of football fans across the country though this is being fuelled by the outrageous behaviour of Benetiz. Since when did Liverpool become the Real Madrid of the Premiership?

What a silly boy you are Gareth. I think this is what most of us predicted. Once again, AVFC have conducted themselves outstandingly and given Barry the reality check he was in great need of. Nice one gaffer.

fair play Villa. About time someone gaves this jumped up pr1ck a kick up the 4rse, although it's a smokescreen, No point in him training if he's a Liverpool player come the weekend!

Glad he hs been disciplined, he showed a total lack of respect for the club with those comments to the press.

I still don't think he'll go during this transfer window. The club have made it quite clear that the price is non-negotiable.

no footballer should ever be bigger than his club.
it is refreshing to see that MON stands his ground in this belief.

if the reds**te dont come in with an improved offer i think barry needs to look no further than thomas sorensen in that he publicly criticised MON last year and was then left to rot in the reserves

I understand I am hardly a "friend" of Vital Villa - but let me commend your clubs actions...its time for player power to stop.
