Swiss Visit In Pre Season

Swiss Visit In Pre Season

Aston Villa have announced that they will travel to Switzerland for a pre season friendly against FC Zurich.

The team will travel to the UTO Stadium on July 12 with the match having a 4pm kick off.

It comes a week before we begin our Intertwobob campaign so O'Neill obviously wants us to have some 'foreign' experience with the differences in style and play before we begin the campaign. This could be particularly useful for the younger chaps.

Or Intertwobob opponents are still to be decided but TPS Turku have taken a 3-2 lead into the second leg against Lisburn Distillery, with the winners to play Odense.

The Zurich match is an addition to our other confirmed friendlies - Lincoln (July 15), Walsall (july 22) and Reading (Aug 2).

Fron a Swiss based Villa fan "FC Zurich's home ground is the Stadion Letzigrund but the Utogrund is the home ground of SC YF Juventus (or Societa Calcio Young Fellows Juventus to give them their full name), a team that plays in the Swiss third division. Their website (www.yfjuventus.com) gives directions to the ground. Note that it holds just 2'850 with 350 seats and the rest standing." So, either the OS have the wrong ground or it's not being played at FC Zurich. Confused? I Am!

Hardly seems more than a few days since we were filing out of Upton Park after completing the 2007-08 season, now here we are on the verge of a new campaign, and a very important one at that. Bring it on.

Why does this site just rehash stories that were on the Official site 3 days ago?

We lead Jinksy my boy - the o/s get their stories from us. No players can be signed by the club until we on here give the move our official approval.
