Apparently Celtic goalkeeper and supposed Villa target Artur Boruc has a £15million price tag on his head (well, I assume on all hof him, not just his head) Boruc has implied the price will put off potential bidders saying clubs seem willing to pay those sort of fees for strikers but not keepers.
The Mirror are claiming that Villa will open talks with Spurs keeper Paul Robinson in the next 48 hours over a £4million move. The Guardian claim we value Robinson at £3.5million but Spurs value him at £5million.
The Liverpool Daily Post say that Gareth Barry will be kept waiting on his 'dream move' because Liverpool are set to tell Martin O'Neill to 'get real' over the valuation. Err, haven't Liverpool just turned down a £9 - £10million bid for Crouch? Get real! Apparently O'Neill is now refusing to deal with the Anfield outfit and has left contact to director Paul Faulkner. O'Neill says his valuation is similar to the £18million Liverpool paid last summer for Javier but Tom-Jones-Mini-Me Benitez doesn't agree due to the age difference. Yawn. Full article: Click Here
According to the Guardian Tottenham have offered Aaron Lennon plus £7m for Blackburn's David Bentley who Villa are also apparently chasing. Reports last week or was it this week, I forget as lets face it, most of this is made up anyway, suggested we had a bid of £15million turned down.
The Birmingham post say that Villa are, along with Paul Robinson, still considering another bid for American keeper Brad Guzan. The Chivas shot stopper was set to move to Villa in January but was refused a work permit, however he has earnt a few more caps for America since so another application might prove more successful.
Other reports are just repeating that Steve Sidwell is looking for a pay off before leaving Chelsea OR that he wants to talk to the new Chelsea boss first. Both stances seem perfectly reasonable to me, why shouldn't he wait to make a few more million if there was the chance?!
Anyway, I go on holiday from Sunday, I spend all year looking at the computer and talking about unfounded rumours, the real action and excitement is bound to happen when I'm away from the computer...! So, mark my words, 4 signings before July 8th ! (Oh, if you are a burglar reading this, the key is under the plant pot and the money is kept under the mattress.
