Trouble is, at the moment, there aren't many moves and most clubs are waiting for others to make the first move. If Barry goes for £20million that will set the tone for the rest of the window for all clubs for instance, or at least that is what my fuddled old brain is telling me!

I said at the end of The Villa Summer Transfer Thread - Part 2, that hopefully we'll be talking about the arrivals not the possibles!

That hasn't proved the case (and fair enough, June is often quiet for moves as contracts don't end until July 1)....

Maybe by the end of thread three we'll be laughing though! Again, we live in hope and expectation.

According to Goal.com, Valencia have slapped a price of €40m on the head of David Villa. Now, according to XE.com, €40m is only £31.7m. If we get £20m for Barry, that's only £11.7m for David Villa. Bargain !!! His surname is Villa, my first name is David ! It's a sign !!!

I dont get this whole thing about no clubs buying - we desperatley need a RW - a young, talented player with bags of potential. We also need a replacement for Barry and if we are being picky they should be more creative and attacking so the Reo-Coker can become a holding box-to-box player. It seems like Spurs have went and bought the ideal players for that!!! Another player I have admired for a few years is Jefferson Farfan - he left PSV a few weeks ago for £6m to Shalke 04 - surely we could have went for him!!! We were linked with Van Der Vaart a while back - we may have got him a few weeks ago - no way will we gat him now!!! I just think those 4 would have been worldclass, affordable players but we have missed the boat with them!!
