Villa At Home First & Last Games Of Season

The fixtures for next season are out and Villa kick off on Saturday 16 August against Manchester City at Villa Park.

Our last game of the season, for once, is also at home, with Newcastle the visitors.

Our first away game is against new boys Stoke.

Boxing day see's the visit of Arsenal to Villa Park and to be fair, that is about as many fixtures as I dare mention for fear of breaking dataco rules because folks, the money men in football don't let the fans sites publish fixtures (ie adverts for the games the clubs sell tickets for) without ridiculous fees!

For the full fixture list go to: Click Here

Obviously these are all subject to change once Sky and Setanta grab the fixtures and move us from pillar to post with the daft kick off times for TV!

The run in for the end of the season looks good. After Man Utd and Everton there are 5/6 winnable games.

Bloody lucky we're at home first. At least MON will have a choice from 40 thousand if we're still low on numbers.

Steako, that's true. However I thought the same thing last season. Fulham, Wigan, Boro, Sunderland?

The 3pm Saturdays will be changed when TV decides what games they want and also if we get into the UEFA cup.

Well apparently that Lisburn Distillery club just lost 1-0 at home to Rhyl in their pre-season friendly. So that's the sort of competition we're talking about when it comes to the intertoto.

The opener against Man City will be a good test of just what you want to achive this season. With the amount of money they are looking at spending, they will be wanting a high position finish the same as you.

I still think we have the better manager and the better boardroom, so I honestly can't see Man City finishing higher than us - unless of course O 'Neill fails us in the transfer window . . .

I love the fixture list for this season. Home first and last games of the season, plus a great run-in at the end of the season to make sure we have a fantastic chance of consolidating what I hope will be a fantastic league campaign, and hopefully nicking 4th spot at the end!!!

Nice opening away game - a trip to The Potteries. Not the friendliest of natives. Had a few tussles in my time with the Boothen End when The Potters inhabited The Victoria Ground.
