Who Would You Most Like To See At Villa?

Vital Villa asked, at the start of June,

Who would you most like to see at Villa?

I don't think the answer will come as a major shock, most wanted to see the former Arsenal legend and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry (37%) and the next major voting block (30%) went for Blackburn's David Bentley.

Other results:

James Milner (7%)
Shaun Wright-Phillips (5%)
Peter Crouch (4%)
Steve Sidwell (3%)
Eidor Gudjohnsen (3%)
Aaron Lennon (3%)
Other (2%)
Richard Dunne (2%)
Paul Robinson (1%)
Nicky Shorey (1%)
Pascal Chimbonda (1%)
Tom Huddlestone (1%)

Our latest poll asks how you are feeling about the current transfer market, chilled, excited, or nervous!

So who would you most like to see at Villa Park and why?!

Henry at Villa ? I doubt that would happen. The rest on the list look more realistic.

From what MON aid tonight about Henry I would bet my left teste that Henry will ot be coimin to VP. He made to comments that stood out to me "being able to go past players is worth its weight it in gold" and "Terry Henry(as he called him lol) cannot go past players anymore"

Henry has had a serious back problem for two years, there is no way MON will be buying him, thats why Barc got him cheap 16 mill for a fit Henry! One of the reasons we haven't been that busy in the transfer marketnis because MON won't be ripped off for average players, 7 million for Milner, 10 mill for Carson, average players.

Van der Vaart wuld be one I would like to see money spent on, he has had his problems in the past be he has a quality. MON could make him a villa legend.

spot on Tez86 - Vaart - has everything that Barry has plus more. Still think we need a Merson type player as well. Not to mention at least another six or seven players on top of these two.

Is Van Der Vaart not a 'Merson type player'?? I would say he is...creative midfielder with a gifted touch and great passing range...sounds like Mers to me!

MON was not over enthusiatic in his praise for henry last night "not the player he was 18 months ago" has lost his sharpness and his pace. Still be top drawer for Villa.... but he is not anything like the player he was in Arsenal hey day. Van de Vaart on the other hand looked like a player at his peak. And if anyone could tell me if the Boularouz playing for Holland is the same Donkey that underperformed for Chelsea I would find it hard to believe

yes astonian villan, thought the same thing. Just seems stupid him being there half talking, or in Barry's case talking about transfers. Pundits are usually ex players and pundits, not current managers.

I think creativity will be more important, MON's comments about players who can beat people, players with pace and a trick thats what we want, thats what he wants. Personally I don't care if he buys household names or people I've never heard of, just as long as they are quality.

Let's sign Van der Vaart and I'd be more than happy!! To me, Bullard isn't good enough for replacing Gareth Barry...still a good squad player, though.

Didn't we try for van der vaart last year? He's a classic example of a big name who didn't fancy coming to the Villa. We will have to look for some hidden gems rather than the obvious names, I think. Man City are throwing money around, The big three will be spending, and there's Everton, Blackburn and Portsmouth and the fading redscouse, that just in England. We will be judged to be in that second tier this will probably be the hardest summer ever for managers looking to push on into the top four.

I think MON's comments about Makalele were all because he had gone for France to win the Championship and was getting stick from Hansen, Shearer and Big Ears, nothing to do with signings.

could you imagine a swp on the right, young left, nrc holding midfielder and van der vaart being creative in midfield. That would be ace!! lets all face it Barry will move now ,chimbonda as RB need cover at CB & LB and a forward! then there is the keeper issue!!

I think SWP would do very well at Villa. Although he's getting on a bit now (for a winger) so might start losing his pace.

I'd go all out for Bentley, apparently he want's to leave Rovers. I reckon 15M would be a fair offer.

I want Sidwell, Bentley, Chimbonda and Robinson, plus a few others to beef up the squad. And I think they're all gettable!
