Villa Back In For Newcastle Winger Milner?

According to The People, Villa have made a £7million bid for Newcastle United midfielder James Milner.

The 22-year-old left sided midfielder/winger enjoyed a loan spell at Villa in the 2005/06 season making 33 appearances and scoring 3 goals. Martin O'Neill very nearly secured a permant move for the player before Freddie Shepherd recalled the player who was apparently on the way down to Villa Park to sign.

The report says Newcastle are holding out for more money and that Everton ar also interested although to be fair, I would think £7million is about right for the tough tackling Magpie? Other reports are suggesting that Kevin Keegan might be bashing heads with new owner Mike Ashley as the club are looking to trim £10million from their wage bill.

The paper says Newcastle want closer to £9million and that MON will give the club a couple of weeks before moving on to other winger options.

Personally I'd love to see Milner back, he showed more passion and desire whilst on loan to us than many of our permanent players, Barry aside. What do you reckon?

I'd take him back - hard worker with lots of talent. On Milner's top form there isn't too much between him and Bentley in my opinion. Also, he was at the club whilst DOL was in charge - imagine how much better he might be once MON has worked with him for a season.

If he's that good we should be asking ourselves why Newcastle don't want to play him or keep him.

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh not the James Milner thread again we have 20 so far! Hard grafting lad but just hasn't got that final ball or shot in him , looked a stone blind cert at 16 to be in there with Rooney but has just not progressed and now stuggles for a place at Newcastle.
