Randy Lerner Denies CEO Role Reports

A report in the Plain Dealer has Randy Lerner denying that he will be buying property and spending more time in the Midlands to take on the CEO role at Villa as widely reported yesterday. Randy Lerner To Get Hands On As CEO

In the report by Plain Dealer reporter Mary Kay Cabot they have an email response with the Villa and Cleveland Browns owner saying:

'To clarify recent reports, I'm not becoming a permanent resident/citizen of the UK. I will not be changing the amount of time I spend with either the Browns or Aston Villa, nor will I be assuming the title or role of chief executive officer of Villa. The responsibilities of that position are currently spread among several people at the club and I am comfortable and confident continuing in that manner.'

So there you go, one day news, the next fish and chip paper. Never a truer word!

He has bought a house though (according to reports) but that's not too strange. People of his financial standing often have several houses and surely it's more convenient for him to have his own place in the UK than to keep using hotels. In fact, didn't the General mention something about Randy getting his own place over here? Not that this changes anything about his involvement in the club.

I love Mr Lerner.

Does Randy drive a BEntley with the licence plate V111A US? The car drove by me this morning.
The Usual Suspect
No that car is not a Bentley its a chrysler, the one which looks like a Bentley and the owner lives near Asda on Minworth island....dont know who he is, but it is not Randy!
KSarge1
Ah! must be the same bloke, he passed me on the Walmley high St. Thanks
The Usual Suspect
Well, hopefully Randy will still be over here this summer as often as possible, making his presence felt. We absolutely have to make a big impact in the transfer market, and if he being over here helps in that process, then the midlands is the place he has to be. Sod the Cleveland Browns (I say that tongue in cheek of course!!..... Still mean it though!).
