Agbonlahor - Villa Capable Of Doing Anything

Gabby Agbonlahor is hoping to make his senior bow for England (v USA) tonight and has said he can't see himself playing anywhere but Villa!

The 21-year-old hot shot burst onto the scene the season before last and then last season cemented his place as a force to be reckoned with and is hoping to cap a great season, literally, tonight.

He also says there is still far more to come from him: 'With the gaffer and the staff here, every game I feel I'm improving. I'm still learning the game and I'm not at my best yet. I still feel I have got a lot to learn. Two years ago, people said I was little more than a sprinter or a flying machine. But when you're playing against the sort of quality players we're facing in the Premier League, you learn a lot.'

Adding on the official site that he now wants to become more clinical getting into the right positions to become a true goal poacher.

And on playing for the mighty claret and blues he says: 'Villa is where I enjoy my football. I'm getting chances in the first team. It's difficult to imagine I could have the same improvement anywhere else. I have to give the gaffer credit for it because it's only since he's been here that I've made those improvements. Hopefully I can stay in the team and carry on improving. It's just what the gaffer can do and why he's rated so highly because people have come in and played their best football in the last two seasons.'

He also says he hopes that Villa skipper Gareth Barry stays and on next season, 'Breaking into the top four in the next few years is what we want. We know it's going to be hard to break into that top four but if we get the right squad, then we're capable of doing anything we want to do. Hopefully we can push on next season.'

Good luck tonight Gabby.

Gabby's a good lad. He comes in for some undeserserved flak at times, but as he so rightly says, he's still learning, still developing.
