Dunne & Lumb Linked To Villa

According to the Birmingham Mail Villa are looking at Danish Under-21 international left-back Michael Lumb. Meanwhile the Express & Star say Villa are chasing Manchester City defender Richard Dunne.

20-year old Michael Lumb currently plays for AGF Aarhus and is, according to the report, also being lined up for a £1.75million transfer by Ajax, West Ham and Udinese.

There are no quotes, or even agents talking, so no idea how true the link is although it is the sort of age group MON is bound to be looking at for the future.

In the E&S they say we are 'weighing up' a £6million bid for 28-year-old Citeh and Republic of Ireland defender Richard Dunne. Wonder what sort of scales are used for weighing these things up? It is like when clubs are chasing a player, is there a specific transfers running track or are they just followed in the street? This is the sort of thing we at Vital have to know. Some call it investigative reporting, others just insanity. I call it Derek, but that is another story.

Dunne has been player of the year for the light blue Mancs for the last four seasons but has apparently refused to sign a new deal with just one year left on his contract. I'm not surprised he doesn't want to sign a longer deal with the turmoil taking place at his club!

Dunne has played at right-back but plays more regularly as a centre back.

Would a CB cause ructions between Davies and Knight though...davies is massive on skill and potential....worriesd about this to be homest, don't want too much cover negating the development of players like Davies, or am i being a sissy. Sod it lets get him in....we need the extra cover for Europe.

We need a min of 4 decent center backs at the club. We currently have 2

Dunne is a very very good centre half and possibly just as importantly a good leader, £6m is a snip.

Dunny has been linked with about a dozen clubs in the tabloids now, with the fees ranging from £2m to £6m! join the club!!

I wouldn't rely on anybody with as serious an injury as Davies had. Its just foolish in the football business.

whats going on at citeh?
Pking
Villa are the fifth club to be connected to Dunne so far. I sense a bidding war coming, and that can only be good for Dunne. LOL

i wan davies, dun mind paying 6mil for a brand new davies :(
Gruck
Rare that we'd have a chance to sign a player of this calibre though - it's being helped by the fact that he won't re-sign with Citeh, so it's a great opportunity for us.

i would like to know the reference behind the name Derek... thats my name and my dads so would be interested to know if its insulting or not :)

would definitely take dunny. We've got one CB injured and one (Laursen) that we've been lucky has stayed fit. We need competition for places to keep people on their toes. I know everyone has theor favourite players, and would not like to see them lose their place, but if it is for the good of the team then so be it. Competition for places will raise every players level!
splatt
he would be a great backup for Laursen. who we cant expect to play another full season
Faroe_villa_rules
Dunne would be quality, the perfect player for Villa. Finally a link that if its true would make me jump for joy and make me feel that we could get Champions League next season if we got him.
Tallaght Villan
Dunne wouldn't move here as mere back up for Martin Laursen though Faroe_villa_rules. I'm expecting him to sign a new long term deal at Citeh, so I'd be surprised if he moves on anyhow. The fact that we do need another quality central defender is indisputable, and Dunne certainly fits into the category of the type of player we should be looking at.
