We definately need some quality but some depth is a must too, especially if we want to compete in the cups and europe

6th place and relatively small amounts spent. Don't understand how someone can be not happy about last season. Where or were?
Villan444
I think most people would be happy with this season, V444, but would acknowledge that we were pretty lucky with injuries and suspensions, compared with (say) Wham. Can we be that lucky next season - I wouldn't bank on it, so we do need players.
BobTheBuilder
west ham bought a load of pensioners and to be fair they signed old players who are known for having injuries.... stoopid!
krisvilla
Didn't they sign 2 players that were injured at the time? I can't help but expect to be dissapointed this window. 2 seasons MON and everyone behind the scenes have been saying we need to up the numbers. Still every window it is the same. I don't think this window can be as bad as the last few because now, even if the players we want arent available we have to sign players just to be able to compete. Even if they are rubish players if we don't get any and we have any bad luck on injurys next season we might not even be able to start some games with a full subs bench

More quality and bigger numbers, that has to be an absolute must. We surely would never be so lucky on the injury/suspension front again, plus we need to vary our options. Having a Plan B would be nice.

Is it too much to expect the greater part of our team strengthening to be completed by the time the lads return for pre-season, or is that being overly optimistic?
