'If It's Football, It's Vital'

An Evening With Paul Merson

Despite rumours to the contrary, I'm not usually one to blow my own trumpet, HOWEVER, I am pleased to say that I was able to get this particular ball rolling and now the Villa and Merse have followed through and arranged An Evening with Paul Merson

Thursday 26th June 2008, 7pm, the Holte Suite at Villa Park, Tickets 35 per person (includes a three-course meal)

Join us for an unmissable night of entertainment as we host an evening with football legend Paul Merson. A fantastic opportunity to look back over Merson’s amazing football career and relive the memories.

You’ll also have the chance to pose your own question to the man himself and there will be live comedy from the acclaimed stand-up Leslie Gibson as well as a three-course meal.

The evening offers a rare opportunity to enjoy an insight into the life and times of a football legend - don’t miss it!

Call 0800 612 0960 to book your place now!

(If you are a Vital Villa regular and you book, ask if you can be added to my table JPFear, if you can stand the thoughts of my company obviously! Not sure if they'll be able to do it but worth a try!)

kingyorkie, have you listened to Merse on Sky? He hates Birmingham City with all the passion of a Holte Ender. A couple of years back he was seen sitting in the crowd at the Blues local derby cheering and celebrating with the rest. Of course he has great Arsenal affections (although Chelseas were his boyhood team) but he has often said he had his most enjoyable years were at Villa Park, and he is a regular at Villa when not working for Sky (I think he still lives in the area)

Merson was the captain at Villa Park lets not forget and captains of Villa always have a special relationship with the fans at Villa Park, Townsend, Barry, Mellberg and Mortimer are all loved by the fans. I would love to go to this, who is Leslie Gibson?

I`d rather weld a metal fence to my eyeballs.

I saw Merson at the Lyric room in my own town Ashby de la zouch, he was excellent, in fact the poor comedian was running scared following up the class act of The Merse. He told tales of Gazza, Wrighty and Seaman which were really funny and even poked fun at his addictions, although his mobile phone was never far from his ear during dinner, speaking to his bookie no doubt. During the break between dinner and his speel and when he was not placing bets he took time to sign autographs and chat with us mere mortals and believe me - we were not worthy... A fantastic night that i urge you not to miss

he was on the balcony from a box in the doug ellis at the holte end for the 5-1 thrashing. hence the chants "sign him up" if you weren't aware what they were for!

I tell you what guys, an evening with Paul Merson sounds great! Drugs, Beer and the Casino afterwards!
KSarge1
Merse said his happiest days were at Villa kingyorkie. As YJ says, he was also captain here. Class act, can't wait for the evening.
The Fear
The magic that is Merse. It will be a night to both savour and remember.
