Zat Knight - Living The Villa Dream

Zat Knight has been talking about his first season at his home team of Aston Villa following last seasons surprise move from Fulham.

'I had a really good start and to score on my debut against Chelsea - and at home - was fantastic. But then I picked up a suspension in the return against Chelsea, was out for a while which was frustrating and disappointing, but Curtis Davies did well and took his chance until he got injured. I came back in and had one or two below-par games. But overall in the last few games I think I've done well.'

Nice to see a bit of honesty from the player, he did have a few stinkers!

He also admits to being a life long Villa fan standing on the old Holte End terraces and now wants to emulate the European years he watched, mentioning the Milan win (on penalties)

'I've always wanted to play for Aston Villa and to achieve the dream is a great feeling. To do it Europe would be something special.'

Who knows, come the end of play today, we might all have that dream back... COME ON NEWCASTLE and COME ON VILLA!

must be amazing feeling running out in front of the Holte end that you frequented as a fan. Guess at the age of 39, I might have to concede it isn't going to happen for me now!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o)

Have you guys been pleased with Knight then? I can't believe you paid £4million for him! Crazy!

OMFG i would come in my pants if i went on for villa and Scored against the Holte. This is a very lucky man

oranje_emu. I am not over the moon with him but he's a Villa fan & although he lacks a little skill his heart is the size of a Rugby Ball
TuBBz
agreed emu, think we paid too much, then again it isn't my money so why worry! He seems to have these awful lapses which cost us, but hey ho, as Tubbz says, he has the heart. Just not convinced he is the next level really!
The Fear
He's been a useful signing. Much maligned, at times somewhat unfairly, but overall I think he's contributed to our successful season.
