Olof Mellberg - Man of the Match v Wigan

Olof Mellberg - Man of the Match v Wigan

Vital Villa asked for your man of the match (cough cough) v Wigan.

We didn't put up the usual full team as a choice as most weren't worthy of the vote, so we went with just Mellberg, Wilf, Laursen, Hercules (who I thought was excellent throughout) and Bella.

Olof Mellberg won with 82% as the bearded wonder bowed out from Villa Park.

Next up Hercules with 8% and Bella with 6%.

That left Laursen and Bouma on 2% each.

Our latest poll asks if you think Gareth Barry will stay or go?

I thought Reo-coker had a decent enough game as did Olly and Bouma. Other than those 3 the rest were poor. There was only gonna be one winner, even if John Carew had scored 9 amazing goals and Carson had made 50 amazing saves, Mellberg would have still won man of the match. All the best Olly!!

Mellberg Laursen and Bouma did ok , not that they had much to deal with really! The rest were dross utter dross! when Barry , Carew and Young don't turn up neither do Villa.

Although i felt Young had a bad game, he did look like one of the only players who gave a damn and kept on trying, so credit to him for that. Nobody stood out, so its only fair Mellberg gets it.

Olof gets it by default. Not the way he would have wanted it, but he deserved it, if nothing else, for the memories.
