O'Neill Focused On Villa Not Toffees

Martin O'Neill says that Villa have to focus on themselves and not worry to much about Everton.

All eyes will be on the Toffees on Sunday as they take on the tough task of travelling to Arsenal at the Emirates! Not exactly a given that Arsenal will win but the quotes this week from their players refusing to give up their title chances seems to suggest they'll be up for this game!

The Villa boss said: 'It's fantastic that we have something to play for going into our last home game of the season. We're going into the game knowing that Everton don't play until Sunday and it would really be nice to win the game and at least give Everton something to think about. I'd probably prefer it the other way around - to know what we had to do - but in essence my own view is that our most difficult task is trying to win our last two games.'

Adding, on the official site: 'I think that if we can do that we'll give ourselves a chance. There's no point in somebody else maybe doing you a favour if you can't go and do anything for yourself.'

Meanwhile Villa skipper Gareth Barry told the Mirror, (that is the paper you understand, he doesn't stand there in the mirror talking to himself. That said, I don't know the guy, so can't vouch as a 100% fact that he doesn't, or does, or.... when you've dug a hole, stop digging)

Barry said: 'It's important we get the three points and put the pressure on Everton and a couple of goals could also help with the goal difference.'

Rafa Benitez, please take the time out from doing your mini me impressions of Tom Jones to take note of the words above. VILLA SKIPPER. I thank you, move along!

You can't have him!

Not my team mate, an observation only.

Yes, lets make sure that we get our act together before we start concerning ourselves with Everton. We'd look pretty foolish if Everton lose at The Emirates, only for us to fall flat on our faces against Bruce's lot. Not that we will.
