Villa - Never Say Die

Ashley Young believes Villa's 'never say die' attitude will be the key to European qualification, and Gabby Agbonlahor is aiming to end the home season on a high when we face Wigan.

Speaking on the official site, Ashley Young said:

'We said at the start of the season that we wanted to finish in a European place and it is in our hands now. Last weekend we showed that we have a never-say-die attitude. We keep going until the end.'

Gabby also commented that the team are hoping for a good win as a thank you to the fans for their support this season.

'It's a big game. They are still fighting at the bottom. They aren't safe yet so it will be a tough game, but the way we have been scoring we can be confident.

'We want to end our home campaign with a bang. We want to give the fans what they want, and hopefully they can help us get the win.

'Whether we make the UEFA Cup or not, we need to try and finish strongly and then we can rebuild for next season.'

There are concerns about Mellberg's fitness for the Wigan clash, but it will also be the home fans chance to applaud a great servent. There would be no more fitting end for Melly than to play a part in securing 3 points that would put us in 5th Place.

Farewell to the Viking a loyal servant to the Villa! Godspeed!

We seem to be assuming Everton are going to lose?

Come on the Arsenal!

Who would have believed just a couple of years ago, that a Villa vs Wigan game would be played in front of a sell-out crowd at Villa Park, and that we would all be so hyped about the fixture? We've come a long way.

You've got a good point there YatesyVillain. Everton could really throw a spanner in the works by getting a point at The Emirates on Sunday.

They could get 3. Arsenal have nothing to play for and have plenty of injuries.
los_angeles_villan
I wouldn't say Arsenal have nothing to play for. If they win and United and Chelsea drop points the gap goes down to 1 or 2 points with a game to go. Quite possible as they will both be thinking of the Champs League final.
