Oh No! Mellberg A Doubt For His Farewell Game
Oh no! The bearded wonder has picked up a bug and might not be fit for his final home game send off.
Olof Mellberg has been forced to miss training today but Martin O'Neill says he'll give the defender as much time as he can to recover.
He told the official site:
'He's ill at the moment so we'll wait until the last possible moment. He wasn't feeling too well last week and I think this is the after-effect of playing in the game at Everton. We're concerned about Olof. Hopefully he's going to be OK but at the moment he's not great and we'll wait to see what develops.'
What a downer if Mellberg can't say farewell to the Villa faithful. Come on Ollie, get better soon.

If he does not play, then all the fans will be left with the memory of his last moment at Villa Park being his celebration to the Holte End as he left the pitch against the Blues. Not the worst way to end his time at Villa Park, surely?

The way he departed the Blues game, i made the comment at that time that he wouldn't play in the Wigan game. It all seamed very final to me , Not suprised that he has a "bug", I bet he has some commitment tomorrow, either personal or with Juve that means he won't even be at the game. Sorry to be so sceptical , but that's just my view. Top bloke, thanks olly for your service over the years and good luck in Italy.

He'll play! He's just stringing it along. He loves milking the attention does our Melly. Even when we sing his name it takes him an age to turn round and applaud. Gotta love it.
