Villa starlet makes Actim climb

Aston Villa starlet Gabriel Agbonlahor continued his fine season after climbing into the top 10 in the Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premier League.

The 21-year-old moved into 10th place after earning 31 points in the draw with Everton at the weekend, moving level with Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard on 534 points.

Skipper Gareth Barry also climbed two places, moving up to seventh overall (558 points).

Ashley Young remains the top-ranked of Martin O’Neill’s men, the 22-year-old being one of only six players to break the 600-point barrier with 615 points, sitting in fourth and only three points behind third-placed Fernando Torres.

Analysis of all Premier League games is taking place throughout the season and the players in the Actim Index Team of the Week are:

Name Team Position Weekly Score

When does a starlet become a star?
Gordonsleftboot
when he makes the unforgivable move from his beloved home town club to a top four club.

well done gabby, keep it up fella!

Overall Gabby has enjoyed a very good campaign. Its been a season of further development and progression for him, but he's certainly been up to the task.

Thought he took his goal well on Sunday. I haven't seen it on the t.v. yet, but it was a difficult half-volley, he kept it down, and finished superbly.
glensider
Really? Other than his goal against Everton I didnt see him and I went to the match!
leelindsay
I see he's been picked in the U21's. Not a bad thing, he was never really ready for the full squad, but atleast he's had a taste and hopefully will be hungry for more.

Still a young man learning his trade in professional football, the starlet will become the star.
