Carew Believes We Can Still Make Europe

Carew Believes We Can Still Make Europe

John Carew completely believes that Villa can take 5th Place this season, and speaking to the Evening Mail, he said the team believe the same themselves.

"We have created a great opportunity to get into Europe, we still probably have to take all six points available but I am confident we can do that.

"Football is all about creating these sort of opportunities for ourselves.

"We have great belief that we can still take fifth place. We both have tough matches ahead but we have a better goal difference.

"Hopefully we may be able to rely on that come the end of the season.

"We have a real chance this weekend when we play Wigan, whilst Everton play Arsenal.

"It will be a diffcult match but we are confident we can take the three points.

"We just have to focus on our game and go for it."

Four matches ago, we were adrift of Everton by 8 points and they had a game in hand. Now we are only 3 points behind, so there's no question as to whether we deserve to pip them at the final hurdle.

If Everton get a point at Arsenal, we look to the Intertwobob, if they lose as I expect them to I think it's game over for them.

benham - couldn't have said it any better. We really can't just expect them to lose. I think a draw is very doable for them and I think that's what they'll get. We can't worry about it though. Just concentrate on our 2 remaining games and things will fall into place on their own.

If Big JC thinks we can do it, then thats o.k. by me. We've two tough games, despite media suggestions that we have an easier run in. Maybe we do, but six points from Wigan and West Ham at Upton Park, is no easy task. We must beat Wigan, put pressure on Moyes lot, who visit The Emirates on Sunday, then take it from there.

to be honest, fifth place would be awesome but i would be delighted if we got sixth and into the intertoto. only 1 qualifying round against Mrklyndryyl and we are in the UEFA. i definitely think 5th is on the cards though.

He's bigger than me and you, you know. Finally won me over has the big man. Just hope he keeps up this new found level of consistancy.
