Man Of Match Results For Villa v Blues Game

Vital Villa asked for your man of the match votes for Villa v Blues.

61% couldn't separate one hero from another and voted EVERYONE

Ashley Young was next up with 17% following his fantastic performance and brace followed by Villa skipper Gareth Barry with 8%

How these polls have changed, the previous seasons there was only ever one man of the match, Gareth Barry. So good to see competition for greatness now!

Other results:

Carson (6%)
Carew (5%)
Petrov (2%)
Mellberg (1%)

Our latest poll starts the annual player of the season awards. We'll start with my favourite, introduced during the Doug years to ensure that Olof Mellberg won something whilst at Villa.

So, first up:

The best beard of the season award.

Fear, in answer to your question, Karen Brady is known to wax her top lip so my vote has been cast.

I know what you mean, ric. It's a great time to be a Villa fan at the moment. I taped Match of the Day on Sunday night, so I've set an hour aside tonight to review the game with a couple of cans of Stella. It's just a shame they didn't show the whole 90 minutes!

Beard of the year!!!!! that's a difficult one, usually I would vote for Mellberg, but I have noticed Mellberg sporting a mighty fine beard on occasion, I think I will have to wait till the end of the season to vote just in case Mellberg or Mellberg have a major trimming accident, but I can definitely say it is between Mellberg or Mellberg.

I can barely sleep as well. I'm trying to concentrate on the Everton game but can't help but think of losing players as well. I know ashley young is going no where, but I as each day comes, I fear more and more for Barry. And Agbonlahor gets caught up in hype easily so you never know - -

A team effort, so only right that all players should share the plaudits equally. Some notable key contributions though. All in all a day to well and truly remember.

Thought that Clattenburg had a decent game as ref. You never know quite what to expect from him.
