Carew - The Best Villa Moment

Carew - The Best Villa Moment

John Carew says that yesterdays win over the Blues was: 'The greatest experience of my Villa career.'

Hopefully that is 'so far' as we should have far more coming over the next few years with Europe a distinct possibility!

The Norwegian striker, who menaced his way to a brace yesterday added:

'The feeling in the dressing room after the match was fantastic. This was the greatest experience for me since I came to the club. The atmosphere in the stadium was electric and it was just unbelievable the whole way through. I really enjoyed the game. We've now scored 15 goals in three matches which must be some kind of record. The last few matches have been really great and yesterday was unbelievable.'

He also said on the official site:

'Winning these games means the same to the players as the fans. It's about pride and winning important matches like this, there's no better feeling than celebrating with the fans. We have been fighting for Europe all season and now with three wins in a row we're really in the race for the UEFA Cup. Now I'm looking forward to another big game at Everton and hopefully we can take another three points.'

He certainly looked totally delighted at the end of the game, he stayed on the pitch longer than all the other players and just looked over joyed clapping and shaking his fists in glory at the win!

he was an absolute menace yesterday using his strength and speed, if he plays like that every week he could get 20 goals or more a season. Just shows, play the ball to these players feet and they are a totally different proposition.

On that form, as a very honest Alex McLiesh admitted, John Carew is unplayable. He was immense. MON managerial skills will hopefully bring that sort of performance out of him on a more regular basis. When big John holds the ball up like that, it brings Gareth and Ashley into the game and let's Gabby make his runs into dangerous areas. The way he can roll defenders and his pace for such a big man is frightening.

i was gonna ask the same deucemeister. i can't think of a time in recent years when it has happened. And how chuffing amazing is it that we have actually scored more goals than the brilliant attacking arsenal side? out of ten. wow.

I was in Las Vegas during the game and I watched it at 4 am in the morning! Oh man I was wasted and loving every second of it. No one around me in the casino understood why I was so excited!

His performance yesterday was top-drawer. The guy was virtually unplayable. Ridgewell will be experiencing nightmares for months on end.

What a great bit of business that was, getting Carew and losing Baros. I'm sure the doubtors have been converted now. Agent Ridgewell's mission is near completion. Someone at work had been saying that anyone could beat Derby after we beat them 6-0. That person was very quiet today! I bet that ball-boy couldn't wait to tell his mates!

Too much is made of our 6-0 victory over The Rams being simply against abysmal opposition. In recent weeks they've ran a few teams very close, notably Manchester United, Everton, and West Ham just this past weekend.
