Fans Warned To Get To Villa Early

Villa Announcement:

'Fans are advised to arrive early for Sunday's local derby with Birmingham City to avoid possible congestion caused by restrictions to vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area.

Sunday's midday kick-off sees a number of additional measures being implemented to ease passage to and from the stadium and supporters should be aware of particular restrictions affecting the Witton Lane side of Villa Park.

Supporters are urged to consider these factors when planning their journey to and from the stadium on Sunday.'

Fair enough. Does anyone know if they will be opening the ground early? It's usually 75 mins before kick off but if they are urging everybody to get there early it is to be hoped that the gates will be opened early too.

good point Jonah, will try to find out.

I have just heard from another poster on 100% villa that they are opening the ground at 10 am.
jonah
They are aiming to open the gates 1 1/2 hour before kick off. So around 10:30
The Fear
oh, and that is from the club so it is the right info!
The Fear
OK, so they want everybody to get there early and then hang around outside the ground...recipe for trouble or what!!
jonah
Whatever time you get there gents, enjoy the game, and lets hope we can cheer the lads on to three very valuable points.

Has three ever been a more important local derby in recent years given the context of this game? With Everton losing in midweek, and ManCity and Portsmouth playing each other there is a real chance for us to gain ground on that 5th spot, or as a minimum to consolidate ourselves in the InterToto placing. Couple that with the possibility of us pushing small heath one step closer to relegation. It's a HUGE, HUGE game. They'll be up for is as they always are, but jeeeeeez - if MON can't get our lot up for it with all of that at stake, then god help us. I reckon it'll be tight, as they've had a few half decent results recently but, switching into Nostradamus mode for a second, I fancy us for a 2-1 victory, with Carew and Hokey Cokey as our scorers, and one for Forssell.

In the ground at 10.30 a.m. for a pie and a Bovril. What else are Sunday mornings for?
