Right-Back - 'Villa Come & Get Me'

Benfica right-back Nelson seems to have issued a come and get me plea to Aston Villa. Well, Villa and Sevilla to be fair.

We've been linked with him, amongst others most notably Porto right-back Jose Boswinga, who has also been rumoured to have been a target for Manchester United.

Villa, who failed in their search for a replacement for retired Villan Mark Delaney last summer and in the January transfer window, look like they might at least have one player willing to make the move after the 24-year-old told Portuguese paper the Record (a regular read in the Fear household you understand!)

'It's my ambition to play abroad in a bigger and more competitive league. I would not refuse Aston Villa or Sevilla if the clubs reach an agreement with Benfica.'

Never nice to see a player contracted to another club talking up the chances of a move, but ho hum, we need a right-back!!!!

Details of Nelson: Click Here I'd love to post some You Tube clips but the authorities are clamping down so I'd best not!

This types of quotes annoy me, cause if we actually saw the interview it probably be - "Hi Nelson, Villa and Sevilla are interested in you, would you make the move?" he replies "it is my ambition to play abroad and would consider any move made for me". This then is rewritten by a reporter as being he is desperate to sign for Aston Villa.

A right-back called Nelson? Deja vu...
IanSymes
do we really need a one-eyed right back?
jonah
Not just a RB called Nelson but a Portugese RB called Nelson......******y!
Villan Of The North
He wont get locked up will he?
young_jonah
I suppose if he became a hit he could have a section next to Ian Taylor's "Tayl End" we could call it "Nelson's Column"
young_jonah
I can't see any 'arm in that.

I take it all with a pinch of salt. These transfer rumours do your head in if you start to believe that there's anything in them.

I just love t he swear-filter on this site. I can't even write ******y. For those of you that want to know what the word is I'll spell it out s-p-o-o-k-y. So I guess political correctness means that we can't use the word s-p-o-o-k. Bloody crazy, sort it out Fear.
Villain Of The North
But apparently I can write bloody, I thought that "bloody" was considered a mild swear-word, not so with ******y but hey, who am I but some poor sucker here to be patronised?
Villain Of The North
who cares about transfers right now! let's win 5th!
