'If It's Football, It's Vital'

O'Neill Expects Tight Local Derby

Martin O'Neill has warned fans not to get carried away over the weekends local derby against Blues saying although last weeks rout was great, 'Birmingham will be a different game.'

Adding, in the Birmingham Mail: 'But it is great we're going into the game and we are looking forward to it. It is a big, big game for us. It is a game and I don't know whether it will be a free-flowing game or not. I imagine probably not. Our intentions will be to try to win it.'

Good to hear the intention is to win it!!!!!

The Villa boss has already said that Villa need to win all their games and hope for Everton to slip up if we have any chance left of finishing 5th.

'We have to win everything in sight, including winning at Everton, which is a tall order but we are well capable. Because of our slip-ups against Middlesbrough and Sunderland at home we've given ourselves a position where we can't slip up again. We are capable. We are playing well, we need to steer clear of serious injury but the squad is raring to go.'

Villa face Blues at home, Everton away, Wigan at home and West Ham away in their run in to the end of the season.

It'll be close alright. I recall us beaten them 6-2 once on a new seasons opening day, but since then if there's been a convincing victory to be had, we seem to have been on the receiving end more often than not.
