Stiliyan Petrov has spoken of his delight at the 6-0 scoreline in our last match, and he believes it shows how professional Villa are given Derby's position.
Derby had made a bright start to the match, given the fact they had nothing to lose really but Villa took control of the game, ran it and finished them off in a way we have failed to finish off teams before.
Speaking on the official site today, Petrov said:
'We're delighted with the win. I think we needed the right preparation and we have to give credit to Derby - they're looking to end the season with some victories.
'So we knew it was going to be a hard game and we made a shaky start in the first 15 minutes. But as soon as we scored the first goal we started to play well and we scored a few more.
'We played really well. The last two games have been very good - the passing and the movement. We're creating chances and scoring them.'
The last two games have certainly been delightful to watch. The natural cycnic in me wishes we could have swopped a couple of the those goals though and given ourselves a few victories in other matches - but with the team now starting to recognise the need to kill teams off you just hope that travels through to the remaining games and then next season.
'We've been watching Derby and they've just been losing games 1-0. They can give you a lot of trouble if you're not up for it. We needed to be up for it and we were.
'We scored six and we could have scored even more. We created and we looked dangerous going forward. We worked hard and we got the rewards.
'We're still chasing Everton and Birmingham City got a great result against them. We'll just try to keep winning as we try to get that place in Europe.'
