Villa Look To Extend Freddies Stay

Martin O'Neill is ready to boom, boom, shake shake da room (I need help) as he admits he'd like to talk over a longer contract with Dutch international Wilfred Bouma.

Villa have a one year option on the left-backs contract, which ends this June, but the Villa boss says he'd like to extend his stay even further.

'He's tried to work at his game and there are obviously things he'd still like to improve on, but overall he's done very well.' Adding, 'We've got an option for another year, but I would want to be sitting down with Freddie and his agent and seeing about the possibility of even extending that further. We'll have to see. I'd like to see what's on Freddie's mind first of all; he might be absolutely and utterly fed-up with us! But in terms of this season, he's been ever present and that's terrific.'

Hopefully he isn't fed up with us ! I think over the season he has steadily improved and is now one of our most consistent performers?

Still say he looks like Shrek's bro though! :o)

Should get him on a 3 year deal, that make him 32? That gives us time to get a replacement or for a young player to break through

I need to pop onto the Bolton and Bor'o sites to see if either need a left back! Well thats where they all end up.

Fan of Blues, every time i see you on here you seem to complimentary to us? Are you sure you're not missing "claret and" from your name? All the same, appreciate the compliments.

Give that Freddie Boy a new deal. Apart from the fact that he's the only full back on the books (right or left), he's a quality piece of Dutch art. Go Freddie, Go Freddie, Go! Go! Go!

Against Bolton he was MOTM IMO. UTV!

Yes, I too am starting to think that Fan of Blues is a closet Villan. Cant fault him for that though.

There's not too many decent left full backs out there and available. Getting Freddie to sign on the dotted should be a priority.
