Willy Or Won't He?

Willy Or Won't He?

Willy Or Won't He?

So off we go with more paper tripe! Why do I give it any column inches on this site then? Well, lets face it, the rumours and speculation are all part of the enjoyment, in reality we know the players brought in are usually the ones not mentioned in the papers anyway but it passes the time!!!

This is a daft one from the Daily Mail.

Martin O'Neill was seen watching Bayern Munich v Getafe in their UEFA Cup game and so the press have pulled out a marvellous link to 31-year-old right-back Willy Sagnol. The price mentioned is £1.5million. Seems a funny one because apparently he wasn't even on the bench the other night, surely MON would be looking at a player who was actually on the field of play? ;o)

The Daily Mail have backed the link up with a fact though, shock horror the defender has 2 years left on his current contract. There, they've convinced me.

Won't be long and we can have the summer long Transfer Rumours thread at the top of the page, oh how we laughed all through last summer as the world class signings came tumbling in!!!!! I'll get me coat.

Maybe we should take bets as to how many will be incoming this season. My bet - as an opti - is 7.

Surely MON had no way of knowing whether a player he is after is playing or not unless he asked the other Manager to start him? So when he got there took his seat and saw the selection he thought oh poo, he is not playing, I can either get up and leave or sit and watch the game, I will stay....

More media speculation. Enough already. Its not even seasons end and its old, old, old already.

Apart from that, MON seems more attracted to home based players. We dont seem to have much of an operative overseas scouting system - something I feel we are missing out on because of.
