Wilfred Bouma Focused On Bolton

Here we go, a week of the players telling us that they will play well in the next game following the weekends defeat!

Wilfred Bouma, who appeared furious when subbed v Man Utd says the loss was a blow and that they want to put things right v league strugglers Bolton. I think we heard the same about Middlesbrough and Sunderland!?

The left-back told the official site:

'We must now focus on the Bolton game. We have got to look to the future. It will be two or three days before this is out of our minds. We are going to have to talk about what went wrong in this game. Most of us know what went wrong, but we were up against a quality side. We want to improve and we have got to do so. It is a long time since we have been in this situation. Three defeats is hard- the only good thing is that we already have enough points on the board. But everybody wants to get that good feeling back when we win. That is the feeling that we all play for.'

Adding, 'It has been a long time, Newcastle and Reading were the last games we won. This is not the best feeling we have had for a long time.'

He also admits at Old Trafford we could have lost by seven goals and admits it is difficult to explain because 'we have shown we can make life difficult for the top teams.'

Wilf has been one of the few player not to let his standards drop, man of the match against Bor'o, did well against Sunderland and Im not surprised he was miffed at getting subbed against Manyoo. It mattered not what team Villa sent out on Saturday the result would have been the same.

No doubt about it, our players are second to none when it comes to talking to the media and stating the all too obvious.

All credit to Freddie though for having his mind focused on the game. He's surely concerned now that no new extended contract offer has been made?
