Well done to the Villa kids who won the FA Premier Academy League Group B title after thrashing Ipswich Town 7-2.

According to the News of the World today Villa will not be keeping Scott Carson beyond his season long loan from Liverpool. We are however being linked with Paul Robinson of Spurs and American keeper Brad Guzan. Full article: Carson A Go Go As Villa Say No No

According to the News of the World Aston Villa are set to forgo up to £2million and instead put Acorns children's charity on their shirts next season.

Goodness knows how but John Carew picked up a groin strain in the match v Manchester United yesterday. Apparently his fitness will be assessed over the next 48 hours to see if he will be fit to face Bolton Wanderers next Saturday.

Talking about Bolton, tickets for next weekends home game are currently on general sale. Hopefully we'll get another sell out like we did v Sunderland, or at least close to it. If only recent performances had matched the passion and noise from the crowd, we'd sell out for all our remaining games.

Apparently I want Randy out and Ellis back in. It was news to me I must admit: Click Here

Vital Villa asked what position do we need to strengthen the most? The majority, with 50%, voted for strength in depth. Our prediction poll for results against Manchester United proved - sadly - right with 49% voting Gulp and 26% saying loss. 21% went for a win and 7% a draw.

Vital Villa poll for Man of the match for Man Utd v Villa was stand in right back Nigel Hokey-Cokey with 52%. Then a protest vote for Salifou who got 11%. Maloney got 10% for at least trying to shoot (and getting their keeper to make a save)

With one eye on Juventus, the sun and a new country, Olof Mellberg has revealed he wants to leave Villa on a high considering the Villa years were the best of his career. Speaking on the official site, the centre half formerly known as the 'Bearded Wonder' said that he hopes he can leave us with a foot in Europe, and after spending seven years with us - go out knowing that the club will continue to grow and go on to achieve what it never could during his years with us. Any chance of seeing Routledge anytime soon MON??

Still trying to work out how Big JC managed to pick up a groin strain. Pity you couldn't throw any light on this amazing medical mystery. At least the youngsters are on hand to cheer us up.

notaspur, apparantly the guy is 'lacking confidence', yet when I've seen him in the reserves he's looked fairly useful. Still has a ways to go though, and whether he's the answer to our wide right problem, I guess only time will tell.
