What sort of reception will you give Gary Cahill?
I'll give the lad a good reception, like a few other players I think he should still be a Villa player and can't understand why, with one of the smallest squads in the league we allowed him to leave!
The former Villan, now plying his trade at Bolton returns to Villa Park for the first time next Saturday since he was sold and the former academy graduate says he isn't sure what sort of a reception he'll get.
He said, 'Do I think I will get a good reception when I come back to Villa Park? I would hope so but you never quite know. I didn't leave on bad terms or on a sour note so it would be nice to think I'll get a warm welcome. It might have been different if I'd have gone to Blues - I don't think that would have gone down too well. If I'd gone to Blues, I'd be able to give a definite answer about the reception I'd get going back to Villa Park.'
Adding, on the official site: 'I'm looking forward to it but it will be strange. I think it will feel more like a practice match because I'm that used to playing with all the Villa lads.'
He also says he had to think whether to take the move or not, 'You have to do what's best for yourself and I decided it was best if I left Villa for Bolton and not Blues. It was the biggest decision of my life and I had to make a choice that I thought would benefit my career. It wasn't easy and I gave all the opinions lots of thought but deep down I knew I had made the right choice and I've no regrets about it.'
Not all former Villa players get a welcome return but I'm sure Cahill will, especially when you think back to 'that' goal against the Blues!
Just don't score against us Gary, otherwise we might change our minds!!!!
