Carson A Go Go As Villa Say No No

According to the News of the World today Villa will not be keeping Scott Carson beyond his season long loan from Liverpool.

The Red Top claims that Martin O'Neill has told Carson's agent that the fee of around £9million wanted by Rafa Benitez is too expensive and has made it clear they will not be pursuing their interest in the 22-year-old.

Villa are still being strongly linked to American keeper Brad Guzan who was set for a £2million move before having his work permit application refused.

According to The People Spurs are willing to allow England No1 Paul Robinson leave. Apparently both Villa and Middlesbrough are interested.

i think Robinson at £5m is right up MON's street, great player on a bad season with lots to prove wouldn't be surprised to see him at B6 next season, or Carson at that price tbh. Hey maybe he's been playing *****e onn purpose to lower the price??? Cos we're short of cash according to some................!

Perhaps we take both, Robinson as no.1 and Guzan as understudy, not as a permanent no. 2 but with a view to becoming the new no.1 after a couple of seasons. Take the experience of Robinson for security and the potential of Guzan for the not too distant future. See, I can dream too :oP

Carson is not actually that bad and at least we know how he plays against teams of a better quality than Plymouth Argyle. The same cannot be said of Brad Guzan! Better to go for the one we know than don't, surely?

Guzan is a great talent. I have seen him play many times and he is only 23 so he will get much better. I believe that he will be much better the Timmy Howard very soon.

We need two keepers anyway. Sorenson and Carson will go, we only have Taylor and the youth team goalie!! Robinson was fine until spudface Neville knocked that backpass to him in Croatia. I'll take Robinson over Carson regardless of price, Guzan, who knows anything about him really, as he isn't going to get a work permit 6 months after being refused I'd say someone from closer to home is more likely, Then we only need 2 rightbacks, a leftback, right winger, two centre halves, a quality midfielder and a goal scorer, 10 players in, 4 out! what do you reckon?

Will we pay Robinsons wages ?? Don`t bank on it plus if DOL had have been able to get him ( instead of 2nd choice Tommy ) where would we be now ?

Carson will go on to better things once he has sorted him-self out, he certainly seems to lack confidence, yesterday has was not at fault for three of the goals. But looked scared when put under pressure.

would still take carson but no way 10 mill.probley worth 3 to 4 mill no more think robinson is good shout and if guzan is as good as everyone on the other side of the pond is saying lets do the deal.he is rated the best keeper to have come from the usa and at moment would take freidal or howard over carson
