Craig Gardner Sidelined With Injury

Craig Gardner has returned from the England Under-21 team who faced Poland last night with an injury.

The Villa midfielder, who has covered at right-back for most of his appearances this year, is set to be out for 2-3 weeks.

The 21-year-old strained his thigh in the 0-0.

Luckily Olof Mellberg will be available for selection after serving his one match ban so we do have a non right-back replacement for our other non-right back.

Meaow.

is mellberg fit though? TBC I think, he's had an ankle injury. That and Juve Syndrome.

Not perhaps at Old Trafford, but home to Bolton, give ERIK LUND a game. Natural right back. Looks great in the reserves. Let's use one or two remaining games to see if he is good enough for the Premiership. We just might unearth a gem!

I aint sure Lund is good enough from what i`ve seen of him. For the Manure game (which i am going to) I reckon we should drop Night-mare and Carson. I`d put Taylor in goal who was awesome in a recent reserve game I saw. Then i`d have Laursen and Bouma in center, Barry at left back and Melberg at ricght back. Ultimate stability! I can`t see it happening though!

dazh - Night-mare is the best nick name yet!

A blow indeed, from a young man who has deserved more opportunities to stake a claim for a starting mid-field position this campaign.
