Boss Washes Dirty Laundry In Public

Martin O'Neill has been washing his dirty laundry in public as he says what Aston Villa need the most is some clean sheets.

With no clean sheets in 17 games, he's torn strips out of the team and says it is crucial to correct this, starting on Saturday v Manchester United? Gulp!

'I think we should be able to defend better. We have scored goals which sometimes overlooks the fact we haven't kept clean sheets. I didn't need to be told we hadn't kept a clean sheet for a long time. I was well aware of it and it is important.'

He also says the weekends opponents got it right at the back first, winning seven times at 1-0, when the goals start flowing then there is a solid base to build on.

On the game at Old Trafford he says: 'If you said to me we will win 5-4, I would take it every week because I am sure it would be a decent game. But we are not and it is about time we got back to keeping clean sheets. It could be crucial in the next few weeks.'

What? we need clean sheets! The bloke is a genius, next week he will be finding cures for the common cold. He really is earning his money now working out these mathematical conundrums which have baffled us Villa fans for decades.

Stating the obvious there Martin. How about signing a proven premiership goalkeeper? Someone young but with plenty of experience of top flight football. Not an unknown American, not a former reserve team keeper and not an ageing Prem keeper (Jussi or Friedel). Someone proven please and young enough to be value for money.

lol, trouble is I guess he gets asked these dumb questions so has to give the answer! Strange that he's not tried to change things though, Carson has been off form, so are Sorensen (obviously going ) and Taylor really THAT bad that they can't be used?
The Fear
Carson is better than the other two but he's pretty average. Knight is even more average and until we get both replaced we're gonna struggle. A mid-table finish could be on the cards. But that's what you get when you don't strengthen adequately.

No clean sheets, cant score goals, lack of confidence. Doesn't take an idiot does it?

Every single opposition attack loks like ending up with a goal conceded nowadays. From a cross, a through ball, a dead ball situation, we're a disaster looking to happen.
