Eagles Swoop On For Villa?

Eagles Swoop On For Villa?

Ok, I'm bored and there isn't much 'real' news about, even the official site are struggling as they have cricketer Ian Bell praising Gareth Barry!

So lets look at this rumour shall we?!

According to the Daily Express Martin O'Neill is looking to make a 'shock' £3m bid for Crystal Palace's teenage winger Sean Scannell.

Why is it a shock? Also now it has been reported, is it still shocking or is it now just slightly eye brow raising?!

I'd say that the 17-year-old, who is being watched by a number of Premiership clubs after he broke into the first team this season for Palace, is exactly the sort of target MON will be interested in.

The paper also claim another Eagles teenager is on the Villa list, this time Victor Moses, who would apparently cost around £10m.

I'm sure Palace chairman Simon Jordon would be only too happy to be selling his clubs prize assets? I'm sure he was quoted not long back saying they would not be selling these players? That said, money talks (although as Neil Diamond* once said, it don't sing and dance and it don't walk!)

*if you are under 25, ask your parents who he is! :o)

Scannell looks a very promising youngster, not sure that Moses would be worth 10 million though!

No doubt we'll get a few players from the relegated teams; that appears to be our world class scouting strategy!

seriously. Enough of these "potential prospects". If we don't get proven players I quit. : )

Unknown quantity to me, so I'm not qualified to comment. I hope though that if we have £3m to splash out on a youngster of 17, that we have ten times that to spend on players ready for immediate inclusion in the starting line-up, cause thats what its going to take. Plus of course we HAVE to find £10m to complete the Curtis Davies deal. Looks like Marts in for a busy summer, no time for sunning himself on holiday.
