Barry Believes In Euro Dream

Gareth Barry still believes Villa can reach Europe this season and thinks one win can turn it all around again.

Speaking on the official site Barry said the team is still confident that Europe can be reached and that one win can turn it all around for us again given the fact we are only 8 points off the European places.

'We feel we can still qualify for Europe - the players and manager know it only takes one game to turn it around.

'I know everyone's looking at Manchester United and thinking it's the worst possible game but we'll go there with nothing to lose and maybe that's a better game for us than a home match against a team battling for survival.

'On paper, games against these teams lower than us should be winnable and that's why we're disappointed.

'It was a big blow. We were looking to bounce back after a couple of disappointing performances but we've got to look at ourselves because that's three games in a row we've dropped points in now.

'Saturday was a chance to bounce back but it wasn't as if Sunderland sat back - give them credit, they battled hard, waited for their one chance and took it.

'We'll fight right to the end - eight points off fifth place with seven games left is a big margin and it will take some doing.

'But we've applied for the Intertoto and we'll try to finish as high as possible because there are other teams that have applied too and there's only one space available.'

The Intertwobob is an option admittedly and if at the start of the season that was how we got into Europe I doubt many fans would argue - the problem we have is with what we achieved in the league this season anything other than automatic qualification will now be seen as a failure.

The last 3 games have been seriously disappointing but our errors and lack of consistency in games has been prevalent all season.

I still don't expect anything from Man U but if luck is with us we still have 18 points to play for.

Do us all a favour Gareth and do your talking on the pitch! I would say he's been average since signing anew deal, a common patttern in the modern game.

Seriously, I'm tired of hearing empty promises. I don't want to hear anything from any of the players or the managers. Just shut up and do your job.

The Intertwobob isn't an opion if Citeh or Blackburn finish above us. Talk is cheap, unlike Gareth's rather nice Bentley.

yea gabby is *****ing me off. Acting like he's hot *****. Well newsflash gabby, you haven't scored since december, you didn't make the england squad, and we're dropping points every game now so let's sit him down and maybe he'll gain some maturity. Mighty Marlon gets my vote
