Villa Skipper Makes England Cut

Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor have failed to make the cut for Fabio Capello's squad for the friendly match v France this week.

Scott Carson has had to withdraw with an injured knee, which calls into question why he was played yesterday having been an injury doubt for a few days before?

Gareth Barry will now be the only Villa player on England duty.

The match, in Paris, will be played on Wednesday 26 March, kick off 8pm.

i wish we had signed him from villa last season(spurs) great player wish him all the best .

well carson needs to buck his ideas up in my opinion he looks so un-confident probably shud have got sent off yesterday handball out box!! Basically we need to buck our ideas up and finish as high as we can now!! Hopefully we say again randy will flash the cash and buy quality 4 next year!!

ooh yeh well done barry!! very consistent performer!! young got dropped because he has not been playin on left last few games!!
Mose21
His form for Villa has suffered ever since he has been playing this holding role for England. His attacking play is now lame and can't remember him scoring other than penalties this season.
Villan444
So MON decided to play an out of form and injured Carson rather than Taylor yesterday? Jeez!
Saurat
Has no one else noticed that Barry has been as poor as anyone for villa lately?
Jonny_B
You'll do the club proud Gareth, as always. Go get 'em.

Barry has been poor in recent games, Carson gets alot of stick but it seems illegal to question Barry's commitment. Alot of the team look lost at the moment and MON needs to sort them out
young_jonah
Lets just hope the guy returns from Paris injury free. Things are getting 'sticky' enough right now, the loss of GB for two or three games is the last thing we need.
