Carson Sunderland 'Injury' Doubt

Scott Carson has mysteriously picked up a knee injury ahead of the Premier League clash with Sunderland.

The official Villa website is claiming that the on-loan Liverpool keeper is suffering from a sore knee and may miss the match on Saturday afternoon.

Stuart Taylor is reported to be on 'standby' to replace the 'injured' Carson, who was put at fault for at least one, if not both of Portsmouth's goals last weekend.

If I’m honest I have as much confidence in Taylor as Carson. If they don’t take up the option to buy I will not shed any tears especially at £10m reportedly

whoo hoo!!!! great news!

I'm certain Taylor will acquit himself well. It does make one wonder about the "injury" though.
Obediah
Interesting. Personally I feel that Scotty needs a break away from the firing line, his confidence is shot, and right now he looks a liability. I have no problem with Stuart Taylor being given a run, no problem at all.

Taylor has alkways performed well when layed and I feel he is more commanding than Carson. Wouldn't be a great loss IMO

Were you present during his bedroom antics? or is it just rumour?
steff_the_villan
Sorensen on the bench then?
The Fear
I know that Taylor has never really had a run in the team and MON sees them both in training all the time, which we do not, but Taylor has never let us down and has come up with some man of the match performances. On the 100% Villa forum one criticism leveled at Carson is that he doesn't seem capable of making a "save" (as in a match turning or saving one). Taylor has made such saves (against Arsenal comes to mind). On overall performance I actually rate Taylor higher than Carson so for me this is good news.
Villain Of The North
tbh i still feel sorry for sorensen, i wouldn't mind seeing him play but in the long run i reckon we should still sign carson. he is low of confidence but soon he will pick it up - MON ain't too shabby when it comes to motivating players. jurassic park.
ric112
I agree ric112,we need to stick with Carson long term as he`ll become a top keeper IMO,not buying him in Jan seems to have affected him.
ASPINALL
Sorenson to start, please =/
Gruck
I really don't agree with the sentiment that Carson will become a top keeper. imo Richard Wright was a far better keeper at the same stage in his career, where is he now?
Villain Of The North
"Were you present during his bedroom antics? or is it just rumour?" Naughty, naughty, Steff - was I the only one to appreciate that? :o)
