Four Villans Called Up For England

Four Villans Called Up For England

Fabio Capello has announced his latest England squad (for the friendly against France March 26 - groan, I hate friendlies!) and four Villa players have got the nod.

On loan keeper Scott Carson, Ashley Young, Gabby Agbonlahor and Gareth Barry have all been named.

The squad is currently 30 strong but will be cut over the weekend.

It will be reduced on Saturday evening before the squad meet up at the Grove Hotel on Sunday night.

Squad:

James, Carson, Kirkland

Bridge, Cole, Wheater, Ferdinand, Johnson, Terry, Brown, Lescott, Upson, Woodgate

Barry, Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham, Jenas, Hargreaves, Cole, Young, Downing, Wright-Phillips, Bentley

Walcott, Agbonlahor, Owen, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe.

The time is fast approaching when you're only going to have to be a supporter of this great club, to stand a very good chance of being included in the full England squad. Congratulations to all four Villans. Well done lads.

Just hope Gabby can concentrate on Sunderland and not Engerland.

The villa have been linked with Wheater, he's MON's type of player.

yes, i agree with kris, only ashley deserved to be in there. but barry has been playing all capellos matches and he also owe gabby a match as he had already called him up for the match for swiss. BUT CARSON?? mystery man, rofl

yeah in hindsight give gabby a chance, he missed out cruelly when he got hamstring problem, think capello likes barry and agbonlahor, but Carson?????? shocker

i agree about carson, shouldn't be in the team. gabi's not scoring, but he's doing everything else. i'd have gone for green instead of carson, a good keeper behind a bad defence. kirkland is playing very well though. a good choice.

Ashley is only being kept out by an in form Joe Cole. Green and Hart must be gutted that calamity Carson has beaten them to it!!!!!
