Porto President Talking Pants!

Porto President Talking Pants!

Yesterday it was reported that Villa had made a £6million bid for Porto right-back Jose Bosingwa .

However Martin O'Neill has rubbished the quotes from Porto president Pinto da Costa on avfc.co.uk saying:

'We have made no bid whatsoever. It's not true. That doesn't mean we're not interested in players. I know this story is definitely a regurgitation because no one from Villa has spoken to anyone from Porto in the last nine months.'

Adding: 'This is a categorical denial from me; it's as simple as that because we haven't spoken to anyone.'

So there....!

Suppose we are going to get more and more of this as we approach the next transfer window, lets just hope we don't get the same quotes from the club and manager about going for top players, would be much nicer to just see the action, or have I got my grumpy pants on today?!

No approach in the last 9 months! so we weren't even in for him in january which is surprising. I guess he was one of the players MON referred to as having had their price upped several times through enquiries last summer.

More proof, if ever proof were indeed needed, that you should never believe a word about transfer activity that you read about in the press. Certainly not unless there's a definite quote from a Villa Park official to accompany the story.
