Villa Keeper Talking To Barcelona?
According to the Mirror today, Thomas isn't quite so Sorryson anymore as it is being rumoured that the Denmark keeper is in talks with Barcelona.
Thomas Sorensen, who was edged out of Villa contention after moaning over the arrival of Liverpool's on loan keeper Scott Carson, is available on a free at the end of the season and is permitted to talk to teams abroad and agree a pre-contract for a move.
Not sure we've got any better than Sorensen at the moment but I guess that is up to the management to decide, be interesting to see if Scott Carson is taken permanently and if so, how much he will cost!
So what do you think, who is our best keeper, Sorensen, Stuart Taylor or Scott Carson? Would you buy Carson at the rumoured £10m asking price?

yeah the guy needs to be taken out the firing line (so to speak) cos he is costing us, cos we aint been as free scoring lately he is being found out with him conceeding soft goals. When we have conceeded goals but have scored and won it's not bothered us but now its showing

This is like Dudek moving to Real Madrid, although Dudek was a better keeper and has a CL winners medal!!! Best of luck to Sorenson, he will go from being Villa's No.3 to Barcelona's No.2. Haha. Carson is better in my book, however starting to wonder bout him.

£10 million for carson is ridiculas. He's a calamity and a weak link in a good villa side.

Good luck to TS, no matter what the future holds for him, or where. As for own goalkeeping predicament, I'd definitely start with Stuart Taylor against Sunderland this weekend. Forget for a minute the two goals at Pompey, Carson was a bag of nerves throughout the whole ninety minutes. He cant inspire any sort of confidence in those in front of him.

Anyone know if this brad guzan is any good?I think o`neill has played it smart with carson by not publicly or privately commiting to a permanent deal earlier in the season.

does anyone think MON should go for the Bolton keeper on a free in the summer and Brad Gozan as reserve keeper

Good luck to Tommy, wherever he goes. I agree with EvertonMike, I still don't believe we can be interested in making the Carson loan permanent... £10 M is far too expensive for someone who can't keep a clean sheet.

Sorensen is our best keeper at the club, that dosn`t say a lot for the other two, but can we afford to risk Taylor as number 1. We don`t own Carson, and £5m is more like his value.

Carson is like Petrov in that MON won't drop him. Sorensen wasn't half as bad overall. Time to get ruthless and get some top performers in and get the rubbish out.

Carson has the shot stopping ability and is not bad at split second reaction saves but he dosent have anywhere near the confidence to deal with crosses. We need a goalkeeper who is just a little bit cocky even if its goes against our dressing room mood set up by MON as all goalkeepers need that self belief to perform week in and week out and to pick themselves up from mistakes.

i've not seen guzn to comment, but if he's anything like friedel, he'll be a good keeper, jussi would be a good buy, but i've noticed kirkland has been playing well and staying fit. if wigan go down, maybe we should look at him? any thoughts?
