Pompey Fan Optimistic Of Win

Pompey Fan Optimistic Of Win

1) So how has the season gone, as expected or better?

Without a shadow of a doubt better than expected mate, we are winning away from home - which is unheard of for Pompey - and in the semi finals of the FA cup - it is just a shame that our home form has been so 'poor' in comparison to be honest.

2) Harry Redknapp, England really should have grabbed him shouldn't they?

Of course we should, but I'm not complaining that we have not as I did not want him to leave anyway, although to be honest I was probably more worried about him going to Newcastle in the end…

3) Do you think Arry will stay at Pompey now or will a 'bigger' club grab him at some point?

He is here to stay now, he cannot go back on what he has said and lets be honest one of the 'big 4' are not going to come in for him, Spurs have a quality manager, with a few other quality clubs well stocked, and no one else would be a 'step forward'… as he keeps saying though he is too old now for change, he is settled where he is, is a family man so he will not be moving on now.

4) Where do you think you are likely to finish this season? I guess if you have any ambition of 6th this season, you'll need to beat Villa, confident of a result?

Clearly I want to do well between now and the end of the season but in many ways if we only won 2 games between now and May, and these 2 games were the FA cup semi final and FA cup final then how could I be unhappy… however we will not lose all our league games, the cup has priority but hopefully players are now going to perform for a place in these games. Beat Villa? Of course I am confident, I am confident of winning pretty much every game - why play if you do not believe eh?

5) Who do you fear in the Villa side the most? Any of our players you'd like to nab?

Agbonlahor is a classy footballer, but I have always liked Barry, if he gets his delivery right, which is fairness he does most the time he could cause havoc.

6) Were you happy to get Defoe and do you think you'll sign him permanently from Spurs in the summer?

I'm delighted we got him, I kept saying we would get him - I might have stopped believing we would in the end but as a goalscoring striker goes I do not think there is any better… we just need to get the balance right with him in the side, which we have not always managed so far, particularly away.

Sign him permanently in the summer? If Pompey are telling us the truth - and they have a habit of not doing this! - we already have him tied down…

7) Who should we fear in the Pompey side?

Lassana Diarra… the fella really is world class, I knew he was good but he is something else. 'If' he stays with us next season then he has every chance as going down as our greatest ever player…

8) Prediction if you would be so kind?

I am still buzzing about the United game, and at the point of writing this I had not even seen the Brum game - I am travelling up for this as I type - so although clearly I care, part of me does not if that makes sense? I think the players owe us some performances as Fratton for the rest of the season so I will say a Pompey win, 3-1 again…

Should be agood game. Villa need the win now more than us, thankfully we have the cup to occupy our thoughts. A very good season for both our teams emerging as a few of the best outside the top 4.

In some respects it's a shame that one or both of us will miss out on European Football next year as we've both come on leaps and bounds in the past 18 months or so. It's gonna be a tough game tomorrow and although Pomepy beat the Brum we made hard work of it... Expect a batlle tomorrow and although I can't see Villa wining I think you may walk away with a point ... I hope 2-1 but expect a 1-1 ...

We've got a roof over our heads tomorrow, so that will surely help make our latest visit to Fratton Park a more enjoyable experience. Right? All we need now is the three points to make it a perfect away-day.

Villa can not play worse than Wed and should be able to compete with Pompy in all aspects of attack and defence. Villa to win but I suspect we will have to settle for a draw.

I'm disappointeed on missing out on seeing us at Fratton Park again, still no game for me this season. As for your comment CHix, we both can qualify for Europe, us through the league, and Pompey via the Cup.

Keeping a clean sheet has to be a priority. We're certainly due one. Pompey are capable of scoring relatively freely, and you can bet that Defoe, as always, will be a thorn in our side. Its a tough one for us, and I have to admit to not being all that confident.
