Villa Youth Will Need Backing

The Villa youth managed a credible draw against Chelsea in the first leg of the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup.

Nathan Delfouneso put Villa ahead only for Chelsea to come back with just three minutes left on the clock.

Youth manager Tony McAndrew told the official site:

'I was proud of the lads and we certainly deserved at least a draw.' Admitting he felt the draw was a fair result.

'We know we can play, but we've still got to do the nitty gritty and I think that's what we did in the second-half. We put them under a lot of pressure right from the first whistle.'

The second leg will be played at Villa Park and McAndrew said: 'Hopefully the fans will turn out in numbers for that game.'

Chelsea: Taylor, Twumasi, Bruma, Aanholt, Gordon, Woods, Nouble, Rodriguez, Nielsen, Kakuta, StocSubs: Mellis, Walker, Taiwo, Phillip, Borni.

Villa: Parish, Simmonds, Baker, Roome, Clark, Hofbauer, Albrighton, Bannan, Collins, Delfouneso, Forrester. Subs: Clancy (replaced Simmonds 12), Dau, Bradley (replaced Baker ht), Poyser, Grocott (replaced Forrester 90).

The second leg is on March 19th and entry, I believe, is free so I'm sure we can get a good few thousand down to Villa Park to see them book their place in the final (for the first time in seven years) against either Sunderland or Manchester City.

Remember the last one against a certain Wayne Rooney - can't wait to see young Delfuenso after all that's been written about him

Lets get as many Villa fans down to Villa park as we can for this event eh ? i think we need to give our young guns the best support as possible and let them see what its like to be on that pitch in front of a large crowd full of love and willing them to win. Roll on the love fest at Villa Park on wednesday the 19th of march !!!!!!!!! COME ON YOU LIONS

Wish I could come up to Villa Park for it but I don't think it'll be possible. There was great support at the Bridge yesterday. You boys should be in for a treat if Gael Kakuta arrives on form - look out for him because he looks the real deal!

I'm well up for this. FREE ENTRY for god sake. Surely we can get a decent attendance for this. Lets fill it out. Tell your friends who've never been to a football game. Get your Mom to come. Call on all supporters of other teams who hate Chelsea. Lets get VP rocking for the kids.

Yesterday the support was huge. They didn't print enough programmes because they didn't expect the support to be anywhere near as good. I think a few Chelsea fans will travel up - there are some future world beaters in these teams and it's good to watch. For a 1-1 draw, last nights game was very enjoyable. 'd very much like to go to Villa Park again - it's a very nice stadium and I've enjoyed both my previous visits.

Is it too much to hope for a 10,000 plus crowd? The reserve and youth team games are usually not too well supported, hopefully that will not be the case for this game. No10Cowans, 'the last time' as you put it was a defeat in both legs of the final against Middlesbrough, just a couple of seasons or so back.

Explain yourself ozanne park rangers. What are you rambling on about laddie?

After we have beaten Chelsea, is the final two legged, or at a neutral ground. Mind you Sunderland or Manchester City, both excellent grounds.
