Who Is Your Player Of Season So Far?

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Benham, who is your player of the season for Villa so far this season?

The poll, in my ever so humble opinion came out spot on with Martin Laursen the clear winner on 55% and Ashley Young a deserved second with 18%.

Laursen has been nothing short of an inspiration for us this season putting to bed fears of being injury prone and proving he has fully recovered from his knee injury which plagued his first two seasons at Villa. He has also weighed in with 6 premier league goals making him our third top scorer!

And Ashley Young has also blossomed putting to bed any question of us paying too much for him from Watford, he has proved his worthiness of such a price tag and earnt an England call up thanks to his tireless work on the wing and his excellent supply to the forwards. Young has four goals and many more assists!

Next up was Scott Carson with 10% and John Carew with 4%. Carew started the season slowly but now has 9 goals and hopefully will go on to double that in our run up to the end of the season, if he can then Villa surely stand a great chance of making Europe?

Other results:

Marlon Harewood (3%)
Wilfred Bouma (2%)
Nigel Hokey-Cokey (2%)
Gareth Barry (2%)
Stiliyan Petrov (1%)
Shaun Maloney (1%)
Craig Gardner (1%)
Gabby Agbonlahor (1%)
Olof Mellberg (0%)
Zat Knight (0%)

Our latest poll, suggested by Young_Jonah asks who should deputise for the injured Curtis Davies.

Difficult to argue against Martin Laursen, who particularly up until the half-way point was consistently superb. Its been a united team affair though, with all the players chipping in to ensure that the season has been the success it has been to date. Heroes one and all.

Been one or two disappointments too, notably Stilyan Petrov.
