Villa Youngsters Earn England Call

Villa Youngsters Earn England Call

The two forwards have been in fine form for the Aston Villa academy and reserve sides this year, with Delfouneso now having been handed a first team squad number, and has been included in travelling squads to ‘get a feel’ for what it’s like to be a first team player.

The U-17 squad travel to Israel (strange place for a European tournament) to face the host nation, France and Russia, with the winners of the group stage going through to the European Championship finals, this year held in the Eurasian state of Turkey.

Delfouneso and Forrester will lead the line tomorrow as the Villa youngsters look to fire their way past the Chelsea academy over two legs to reach the FA Youth Cup final for the first time in 4 years.

"he U-17 squad travel to Israel (strange place for a European tournament) to face the host nation, France and Russia,"

Am I the only one that thinks that implies that they are to face hosts Israel AND then play Russia and France?

Deserved call up for both. Two talented, promising youngsters. Its not the reserves PTP, its the youth team, F.A. Youth Cup semi-final. 'At' Chelsea its tomorrow night, second leg at VP on the 19th of this month I believe. Admission free to both games.

Can't wait for tonight's game - might only be the Youth Cup but it's been great watching so far.
