I’ll Be Back Claims Villa’s Davies

Curtis Davies has gone all Terminator and has told the Claret & Blue faithful “I’ll be back” as he looks to recover quickly from his ruptured Achilles.

The 22-year old, on loan from West Bromwich Albion with a £10million-or-so deal already agreed for the summer was carried off in the first half of Villa’s 1-1 draw with Arsey Wengers often fouled Arsenal side. Following surgery in the capital on Saturday evening, Davies returned to the Midlands yesterday and has since been to Bodymoor Heath to begin his rehabilitation.

Speaking to avfc.co.uk Davies said:

“These things happen and I'll be back.”

“It doesn't actually feel too bad. Even at the time I think Roddy Macdonald (club doctor) was quite surprised that I could look him in the eye and tell him that I'd popped my Achilles.

“There's not much pain there, just a few aches where the blood flow isn't quite right. Other than that I'm fine and I just want to focus on getting back.

“I knew straight away what it was. I'd just turned to get back into my position - I didn't do anything too strenuous and I felt and heard it pop.”

Davies was quick to make a comparison to Arsenal’s own Eduardo, who’s horrific injury last week showed just how quickly someone’s sporting career can take a turn for the worse:

“Look at Eduardo last week, a nothing tackle has caused him a really bad leg break and he's out for a while. Me, I was nowhere near anyone and I'm out for a while.

“That happens in football. Sometimes you get away with things and sometimes you don't.”

Get well soon Curtis, Villa’s superstar “pub player!”

My Albion mates kept on telling me how good Curtis was. We were starting to see why, but I'm sure he will come back and prove his worth. Good luck to him (and Eduardo..song or no song!)

sooner the better, he was settling in nicely.

talking of injuries how is NRC?

Its going to be a long, hard, lonely road, but he's young enough, and has the determination, to get back fully fit and firing within the expected time. Good luck to him, he will be missed.
