Man Of The Match v Arsenal

Vital Villa asked for your votes for our man of the match v Arsenal.

I think for the first time, on loan Liverpool keeper Scott Carson has been voted 'da man' (see, I'm down with the kids and very 'street') with 35%.

John Carew was next up with 24%

The rest:

Gabby Agbonlahor (12%)
Martin Laursen (12%)
Gareth Barry (5%)
Wilfred Bouma (3%)
Shaun Maloney (2%)
Ashley Young (1%)
Nigel Hokey-Cokey (1%)
Curtis Davies (1%)
Craig Gardner (1%)
Zat Knight (1%)
Marlon Harewood (1%)
Isaiah Osbourne (1%)

Our latest poll asks who is your man of the season SO FAR as suggested by benham?

Ashley Young. When he is out, he is genuinely missed and it shows. Gareth Barry has not had the greatest of seasons, but that may be because he has better players around him than in recent years and he just doesn't look that much better than the rest. As a comedy vote, I'd go for Petrov, or as he will be known in the summer, Petr-off.

Player of the season for me, same as Real Neil, Ashley. Showed how good he is by his absence v Fulham. Great prospect. Also Martin Laursen, a total rock and goals as well. Ah bugger, now I'm conflicted, which one, which one?!?

Fear I suggest a joint one, Laursen and Young players of the year, cos they both been outstanding, I think young will be even better next season after learning a huge amount this season

What's the mater n17 - feeling a touch bad-tempered since the weekend? If you can't even beat Birmingham's losers, how do you think you'll do against a decent side? :o)

I'm a bit nosy here. Voted for Scott Carson in the match against us. But for MotS for you guys, from the 10-odd games I saw, it's Laursen. And you guys think Young's been doing better than Agbonlahor (who I think is outstanding)?

Young has been better than agbonlahor I personally think, his delivery and attacking threat has edged agbonlahor, who has been showing much improvement, his pace is always a threat, I just think young is a clever player. Laursen is a class act . Sub of the season goes to mighty Marlon!

There is no option for Salifou and he has won a MOTM already ;D. And Zat Knight couldn't even be bothered to come on here and vote for himself!

Yeah Lou, we know Ashley has been better than Gabby. His 14 assists and 5 goals speak for themselves, but so does his absence against Fulham. I wouldn't worry n17, I imagine with the loan deal we'll have first option on Carson whether we want it or not, and to your comment about the reserves, a quick glance at the table tells me that we are top of the league with 27 points from 12 games while you languish just above Derby with 9 points from 11 games. Perhaps you should think about that one for a while, and while you're at it, how about considering the idiocy in saying you don't intend to slag us off before going on to...well...slag us off.

I think everyone's been outstanding (minus petrov). I mean even look at gardner who will and has played anywhere he's asked to. He's a dedicated young player and I like that. Everyone's been doing great.

Hi all am new to the site but felt I had to register when I saw this article to let you know that spurs are looking at Carson and a scout of theirs was at the arsenal game. I had a chat with him and he said they liked the look of carson. Also that the defoe and chimbonda rumours were true but didn't work out. He did also say thanks for tking routledge off their hands!

Don't worry about Routledge; West Ham fans couldn't wait to be rid of Reo Coker and Harewood and they haven't done too bad! As for player of the season, it's got to be Young... or Laursen. At last, we have several players who are up to the Barry standard. Also, I think Agbonlahor hasn't been at his best since he won player of the month but he did look sharp coming back from injury.

Surprised that Scotty C picked up the nomination. O.K., made a decent stop or two, but they were saves you'd expect him to make, and even during the second half he was only dealing with routine stuff. No, surprise choice me thinks.
