'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sunday Villa Transfer Gossip!

Goodness gracious me, is it the summer already? The papers seem to be full of transfer rumours this weekend!

Some reports suggest that Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is looking to bid for Liverpool keeper Scott Carson, currently on loan and seemingly happy at Villa. Many reports suggest that Paul Robinson will be off-loaded in the summer following several high profile mistakes and apparently his competition for the England jersey is on the priority list to replace him.

Reports earlier in the week again said that Villa would pay the 10million that Liverpool want for Carson.

Another report suggests that Liverpool and former Villa striker Peter Crouch has been given a take it or leave it contract offer by the Anfield outfit. Crouch has been linked with a return to Villa Park along with interest from Portsmouth and Newcastle. Crouch has just one more season left on his current deal and according to some has been offered a 35 000 extension. 35 000? Ridiculous, how can a Premiership player be expected to survive on such poultry sums?! With his lack of appearances for the first team this season, no matter what money is on offer, the giant striker will surely need to move on in order to stay in England contention?

The News Of The World have repeated the claim that Martin O'Neill will return for American goalkeeper Brad Guzan in the summer. Guzan had agreed a 2million move in January only to find his work permit application had been refused.

The same paper claims that Villa are interested in Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

One paper is saying that Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole will want out in the summer after being left out of the team for the Carling Cup final.... Hmmm, I wonder?!

leelindsay
Is Carson really worth 10 million???????????? he cant even keep a clean sheet
kentvilla
Joe Cole wouldn't come to us, same with Huntelaar and Van Der Vaart, if we are expecting to sign these players we will be well and truly let down. If we did get Joe Cole though, I think I would start going to church to give my thanks.

Rumours and unfounded speculation, thats all it is. Lets enjoy the spring before we start doing our head in over transfer dealings.
