New poll isn't easy if you are being honest. 4th isn't impossible but it would take a minor miracle surely?

intertoto absolute minimum for this season if it goes tits up a bit, but its been a great season, we aint had one of these for a while now. I'm happy regardless, but I do think we should be competing in europe because we are behind enough as it is, in terms of not competing in europe which is valuable exerience for champs league in future and our young english players.

If we get robbed of a Euro spot because of the spud ****ers. I'll be extremely *****ed.

I'm sticking with my prediction from pre season that everyone laughed at. 6th. First time any of my predictions about Villa has even been close to being right. My eternal optimism seems to be finally paying off!!

You have to say the sole reason for us applying to enter the Inter two Bob, is that 6th might not get us a European spot (absolutely ridiculous I might add). Also, the way the cups have panned out, has been very unlucky based on recent seasons. We have paid very heavily for our poor cup performances. But I'm happy that Spurs won the cup, we all need to break the top 4 stranglehold and must look at the bigger picture. Our run in isn't that easy with some ridiculously hard away games against Arsenal, Everton, Portsmouth and Man U - how do you think we will fare from those four games?

liverpool have to go to old trafford and the emirates, everton have it easy and will finish 4th, we may even nip ahead of the scousers and finish 5th. its a tough run in though....

Man Citeh and Pompey have easier run ins than us or Everton. The blue Scouse looked good against Citeh though but have much worse games left. (I do prefer these races for Europe rather than the escape from the dropzone;-D)

"I do prefer these races for Europe rather than the escape from the dropzone" - what a great thought V444 - reminds us of how far we've come in the last couple of seasons! :o)

Tarzan that's not an adams apple he has swallowed a full As for our finish I would like to say 4th but I think 5th or 6th is a more realistic place for us. But we have the intertoto to fall back on..

look granted away games will b difficult, maximum well probly get against arsenal man u everton portsmouth and west ham is 5 points more likely 3 or 4 tho. but home we play blues sunderland wigan bolton middlesbrough an then derby away. i would expect us to brush aside these teams due to there awful away records which makes 18 points. with 21-23 points more i would rkon well have more than enuf points 2 finish 4th just my opinion but theres more of a chace than a lot of ya r givin us credit 4.

5 out of a potential 15 points? I have to believe we can do better than that. Our away form is good. I'm going to stand by my predictions earlier posted but if I wasn't being ridiculous optimistic like I was before, I'd have to say realistically we can take away 7 or 8 points. Atleast two of those we can win. Infact, if we don't beat portsmouth and west ham I'll consider it a dissapointment. That's 6 right there. Surely we can draw atleast one of the others.

I agree - a meagre 5 out of 15 for those games Khanage? You need some of what LAVillain is on....I reckon we'd be looking at a minimum 7 or 8 points also - more if we get a proper 90 min performance at either ManU or the Arse. My best case would be 10. Worst case 6.

I enjoy optimism as much as the next guy, but we're setting ourselves up for dissappointment by expecting 2 wins out of that lot. I actually think that we may go through the rest of the season without another away win, they're all seriously tough games.

Well I certainly dont think that we'll finish any lower than eighth, and that alone will be fine by me. Progress. Eighth or higher will have certainly exceeded my pre-season expectations. I dont expect top four, thats unrealistic, as I think is fifth, but sixth or even seventh would do very nicely. Yes, its been an enjoyable season.

nah draw everton an portsmouth and possible win draw against west ham losin to arsenal man u that is the best we can hope for fact. my point still stands that 4th is within our grasp with good home wins and gritty away performances an wiv a little luck we cud sneek an unexpected win against everton or portsmouth.

I am in LA for a while working, we always seem to do OK whilst I'm out of the country. Away draws are good against the top teams at this stage of the season. I notice camp Lawro has predicted a draw against the Gooners. That would be great. Arsenal have lost a lot of respect recently with the infighting and the Gallas incident WTF was that all about?

Thing for me is actually finishing the season with the same attitude the team have shown thus far. Apart from the Fulham game I dont think Villa have rolled over in recent weeks anywhere. Coming back against a**** poor Newcastle was not a surprise after the season we are currently enjoying. But the push has to be made in the last quarter of the season. 11 games to sink or swim.
